The former playground at Civic Park on Seminary Hill lived a few years beyond its useful life. We miss it and the heartwarming sounds of children laughing and playing on the colorful structure. It's time to bring that back with a new playground at the same location.
The new playspace is designed to serve children ages 2-12 with a broad range of physical abilities, and will be the first playground in this area to be fully supported by a rubberized surfacing that meets new accessibility regulations in New Hampshire.

Civic Plays has broad community support, with endorsements from:

- Twin River Children’s Center
- Mt. Lebanon Elementary School PTO
- Hanover Street Elementary School PTO
- Special Needs Support Center.
Our neighbors are behind this project: many have attended information and input events, including the 150 children who voted on the playground elements they would enjoy most. We regularly hear from neighbors and friends about the community value for a playground in this important location.

Accessibility
Located at the terminus of the anticipated extension of the Mascoma River Greenway, Civic Park is also accessible by sidewalks and served by ADA-compliant parking and bathrooms. We are delighted that the Civic Plays playground plan has been assessed as “disability-friendly” by the Special Needs Support Center.
Playground Elements
Playground elements will be purchased from Landscape Structures, a leading manufacturer known for quality construction and environmentally- preferable materials. These pieces are anticipated to have a usable life of 35 years. Please help us meet our goal to purchase all 6 playground pieces!
